Worry No More

Hey! How are you doing today? Are you feeling down or stressed out? Going through tough times? I know the feeling, it doesn’t feel good and makes me worry more about the future. Well, that’s me occasionally, and I don’t like it. The moment you hate something so much (just to be clear I’m referring to a “thing”, not an individual), is also the tipping point when you do something about it.

Come to think of it, I also worry too much in the past. About a lot of things, like my family and finances just to be really transparent, and to name a few. And those worries are all rooted in fear, especially if things aren’t working my way. Or if I don’t get the results that I expect and need at work (well, I also worry back when I was still younger and still a student, so it’s been a trend for me in the past). I personally believe it’s normal. How about you, what do you think or feel about worrying (you can use the comment box below if you want to share what you think or how you feel)?

However, because it’s acceptable (at least in my own opinion, and I don’t have a scientific study to back it up yet), there’s a tendency for us to accommodate too much of it in our lives. And, just like anything in excess, it’s unhealthy and it’s contributing to our daily stress. By now, I hope that you’ve already came across about the effects of too much stress (if not, since I am no medical expert, please feel free to google about it), and some physicians considers it as a killer disease (here’s an article that you may want to check out). With this knowledge, and believing that we are a steward of our health, I’ve tried my best to worry no more or at the very least, to minimize it daily, until gradually eliminating it.

Sounds impossible right!? True! I also thought it’s impossible. Especially if we simply do it on our own. Even the things we know, we tend to forget at times. That’s why it helps to surround ourselves with positive people or individuals who will remind and encourage us to do the right things. I personally have this group of people or individuals whom I call “my village”. My village is one of my constant source of encouragement and motivation, through our different life challenges and struggles. Despite all those challenges and struggles, there’s this unified message that I learned and being reminded of, whenever I listen to any individual in my village who’s sharing his or her story or life’s experiences. That “fear and faith cannot coexist in our hearts at the same time”, we simply need to surrender everything to Him, and continue trusting Him.

Looking back, with all the energy and emotion I invested worrying in the past, most of it, if not all, didn’t even happen. Purely a waste of energy, emotion and time. But of course, that enlightenment only occurred to me, once I started having my own village. While constantly being reminded of God’s assurance through His words and His faithfulness in our individual lives, that He empowered us to worry no more. His words and His promise, says that,

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

You may forget about all the personal things that I’ve shared, however, whenever you go through tough times and whenever you feel like worrying, I pray that His words above will be impressed in your heart, that you will worry no more. I appreciate you for dropping by and thank you for your time. Feel free to reach out. 🙂
